This website is operated by Jon Byler. Jon has served in various ministry capacities for over 30 years, 13 of which was in Kenya, East Africa where he served in pastoral and leadership development roles. While in Kenya he established Leadership Training Institute, a non-formal training program that has trained hundreds of leaders and has spread to other parts of the nation and beyond.
Jon currently resides in Lancaster, PA. where he serves as the COO of Center for Serving Leadership. He has a passion for developing leaders and seeing people develop their strengths. He has authored several books including The Heart of Christian Leadership, The Art of Christian Leadership, Signposts for the Journey Vol. 1, 2 and 3 and 7 Keys to Financial Freedom. He writes a bi-weekly letter Reflections for Serving Leaders which is distributed by email in English, Spanish and Chichewa.
Jon completed one year of study at Rosedale Bible Institute in Irwin Oh. before receiving a BA in Christian Ministries from Belhaven College. Later he completed a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership at Regent University with a concentration in intercultural studies.
Jon is married to Loice, his wife of more than 30 years. They met in college and were married in Kenya before returning the USA for the first three years of their marriage. They have three children, Joshua (married to Rachel), Joseph and Elizabeth. They are currently leading a church plant in Lancaster, PA.
Loice has served in pastoral leadership and enjoys teaching and speaking in a variety of settings especially on issues related to anxiety and depression.
