Merry Christmas!
December 24, 2025
Dear Friend,
Grace and peace to you this Christmas season. I want to wish you—and those you serve—a very Merry Christmas.
As I reflect on the coming of Jesus into our world, I am once again filled with wonder at the beauty of God’s plan. His birth appeared simple and ordinary, yet it was the fulfillment of prophecies spoken centuries before. Jesus entered the world as a King and was rightly worshiped. And yet, He “did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45, NIV).
From the very beginning, His life turned our understanding of leadership upside down. Even now, I continue to wrestle with what it truly means to live out that kind of servant leadership in the ordinary rhythms of daily life. Christmas gently calls us back to that posture—humble, faithful, and surrendered.
It has been a privilege to walk alongside you, even in a small way, through these bi-weekly reflections. Thank you for welcoming them into your life, for reflecting on them, and for sharing them with others.
I am also deeply grateful for those who quietly serve behind the scenes. Linda Boll has faithfully edited these reflections for many years, and I am thankful for her careful and gracious work. Gabriel Mandrazo and Grace Kacheto generously give their time to translate these writings into Spanish and Chichewa, extending their reach far beyond what I could do alone.
May the peace of Christ fill your heart this Christmas, and may the coming year draw you ever closer to Him as you serve faithfully where He has placed you.
Yours because of Him,
Jon Byler
P.S. On a personal note, I am excited to share that I am giving birth to a new venture that will allow me to serve both business and church leaders in deeper and more intentional ways. I would be honored for you to explore it with me.
If you’re curious, you can learn more at www.LeadersServe.com, or simply reach out—I would enjoy connecting with you. Beginning in January, I will be hosting a bi-weekly Zoom gathering for business leaders, as well as a separate bi-weekly space for church leaders to reflect, learn, and encourage one another.
If you serve in a church setting, you may also appreciate a page of resources created especially with you in mind. Click here to learn more. |
